The Department of Infectious Diseases, Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, has a history of more than 30 years. It is a first-class clinical department of the hospital. Through continuous construction, it has gradually formed a diagnostic, therapeutic and research center for infectious diseases in Northeast Sichuan, which is characterized by liver diseases and infectious diseases. It has made important contributions to the prevention and control of infectious diseases in Northeast Sichuan.
The Department of Infectious Diseases has a team of talents with rich clinical experience and high academic level. Among the medical staff, there are 5 professors, 4 associate professors, 2 master's supervisors, 1 doctor, 3 doctoral students, and 15 masters.
Among the nursing staff, there is 1 associate chief nurse and 2 charge nurses. The department admits more than 2,000 patients annually and sees more than 20,000 outpatients. It mainly diagnoses and treats various infectious diseases, such as: viral hepatitis (hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E), tuberculosis, AIDS, epidemic encephalitis B, epidemic meningitis, bacillary dysentery, typhoid fever, as well as infectious diseases caused by various bacteria, fungi, viruses, chlamydia, mycoplasma, rickettsia, spirochetes, parasites, and also includes the diagnosis and treatment of unknown cause fever, various refractory infections, and unknown cause jaundice. It especially has rich experience and advanced technical means in the diagnosis and treatment of severe hepatitis (ie, liver failure) caused by various reasons. Our department has imported artificial liver support systems from Japan, bilirubin adsorption systems, and ascites concentration and reinfusion therapy devices. These advanced equipment are used for the treatment of patients with severe hepatitis (ie, liver failure) and refractory ascites. At the same time, it has a transient elastography scanner for the diagnosis and monitoring of liver fibrosis, which is the diagnosis and treatment center for severe liver diseases and infectious diseases in Northeast Sichuan. At the same time, our department has also carried out the diagnosis and treatment of alveolar lavage under fiberoptic bronchoscopy, which has greatly improved the diagnosis and treatment rate of difficult-to-treat pulmonary infectious diseases. In recent years, our department has participated in scientific research work of major national scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Distinguished Young Scientist Fund, the 973 Project, and the Sichuan Provincial Health Department, and has won two third prizes for technological progress of the provincial government, three municipal government scientific and technological progress awards, and two utility model patents.
